Broadcast Systems Engineer

General Job Description:

Do you like tech? Do all of your friends and co-workers constantly ask you for help with Adobe products, what PC to buy, and how to setup SANs? Does the thought of doing this as a career sound appealing? Weigel Broadcasting Co is looking for the right candidate to join our Broadcast Systems Engineering team. Weigel Broadcasting is a progressive, Chicago broadcaster with a local and national presence. This position is responsible for providing end-user support for nearly 50 Adobe Creative Cloud edit bays at our Chicago hub. The ideal candidate should be able to quickly diagnose and correct common issues with Adobes Premiere and After Effects products, and will be responsible for building and imaging new editing workstations and servers. This is a fast-paced environment. Qualified candidates MUST have strong, existing Adobe troubleshooting skills and possess the ability to quickly learn new technologies.


-Assist in the systems operations of Weigel Broadcastings Chicago hub.

-Provide end-user support for Adobe Creative Cloud, Stratus, Edius, and iNews.

-Other duties, as assigned.


-Basic networking knowledge required.

-Knowledge of Telestream Vantage, Grass Valley Stratus and Edius a plus.

-The systems engineer must be able to quickly learn new technologies and implement them into existing broadcast infrastructure.

-Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.

-Must be willing to manage station needs at any time.

-This is a 24/7, on-call position so flexible scheduling is required.
