Product Engineer Beaverton, Oregon
In this role, you will be responsible for leading released products through engineering changes while ensuring all product performance specifications are met.
Primary responsibilities and functions include:
-Responsible all aspects of engineering support as products transfer from NPI to production, including coordination with HW design engineering to validate and approve post-launch changes to product design. Defines criteria and approves manufacturing release from NPI to production. Collaborates with suppliers and manufacturing engineering partners to drive design improvements and respond to factory defects and customer failures.
-Responsible for component engineering. Monitors manufacturers PCN / PDN notifications and finds alternative solutions in cases where manufacturer changes relevant form, fit, or function, where manufacturers discontinue item used on Tek Video products, or where quality, risk mitigation, or other factors motivate design changes to released products. As needed, leverage knowledge of sustaining products into supplier and component selection during product development.
-Owner of the Tek Video Business Unit change control process. Defines and monitors change control approval processes to ensure continuity throughout the production product lifecycle.
Experience / Skills
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
-BS in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering
-At least 3 years of experience working in hardware design, product development, sustaining or component engineering, preferably in the electronics industry
-Demonstrated strong and effective interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with Asia-based contract manufacturing a plus.
-Detail-oriented with the ability to work proactively and prioritize effectively in an environment with competing demands. Experience managing engineering change control process in a hardware product environment a plus.
-Proven problem-solving track record.
-Proficient with mainstream PLM software
