You will be integral in helping to lead the video team that creates content that will be distributed across many platforms daily. This role encompasses supervising team members in the entire social media and video production process.
You have management experience and a comprehensive understanding of the viral media landscape, especially as it relates to video. You will be responsible for tracking and analyzing social media statistics to help the team develop strategies around video distribution on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and partnerships. Additionally, this role will be helping team members set, analyze and hit their goals.
Our ideal candidate has experience managing other producers, as well as a strong understanding of what makes quality video across platforms. The candidate can efficiently lead producers in their video creation process, and will be able to guide and train those who are less experienced and can help the video team accomplish day-to-day tasks. This candidate will also be setting team goals and benchmarks, as well as analyzing content output and successes.
-Manage video team’s production outputs, workflows and content distribution for social video - making sure everyone is creating what they need to in order to hit team goals and benchmarks.
-Assign tasks and priorities to team members, as well as highlight successes and wins for individuals.
-Provide feedback, editorial suggestions, and copy editing for team members’ news videos in order to create pixel-perfect content.
-Coordinate with the video director on the team to ensure efficient workflow and meeting all required team goals.
-Help run daily production end edit meetings - ensuring that team members are clear on their video assignments and calendars.
-Help set individual team member goals to meet all KPIs, as well as help measure and identify successes.
-Train new members on team processes and video production workflows.
-If needed, the ability to produce social-first trending video content and shoot high-quality footage with standard camera equipment.
-Understanding of how to locate and source and secure rights for potentially viral clips.
-Track social performance for the brand and communicate wins and growth strategies to the team effectively.
-Organize the content calendar for planned videos with the ability to make real-time decisions about content placement.
Experience / Skills
-1-3 years of management experience in a video production capacity, geared toward social and digital media.
-Experience helping to oversee video shoots and production processes for a video team.
-Bonus if you have advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps, Final Cut X
-Excellent judgment overseeing the creation of social media video in every aspect - from outreach to copy creation and social posting.
-Experience giving real-time feedback and editor expertise on direct reports’ video content.
-Understanding of all major social media platforms and what types of content resonate on each one.
-Comfortable building and managing content calendars and production workflows.
-Ability to work in a collaborative team environment with real-time feedback.
-Can effectively handle multiple projects at once and meet tight deadlines.
-Strong communications skills and ability to write fun and informative social copy.
-Must have knowledge of how video is programmed and distributed across platforms and must be willing to contribute new ideas for growth.
-Experience using tools like Sprout Social, Crowdtangle, Content Management Systems (CMS) and Photoshop a plus.
