Annual Salary $43 - $48k plus full benefits package, August – June (10 month)

The School of Film and Media Studies at Purchase College, SUNY, is accepting applications for a Film Store Manager starting August 2020. The Film Store is the hub for production equipment and supplies for Film BFA students, equivalent to a professional equipment rental house. The primary responsibilities of the Store Manager are the distribution and return of production equipment and equipment training for students. This position also manages the spaces utilized by the film program, provides technical support for on-campus and on-location student productions and supervises film student workers who assist in the daily operations of the film store.

A bachelor's degree is required. The successful candidate will have technical knowledge of film and digital equipment including camera, sound, lighting, grip and electrical equipment, as well as production workflow from pre- to post- production. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in digital lab troubleshooting (Avid, Premiere, Final Cut Pro). Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are necessary. Previous experience with equipment repairs or managing a rental facility is highly desirable.
