The Job

We’re looking for an experienced producer to join a team that will launch an exciting new show for a young audience, aged 18-30.
We’re looking for someone who can take hours upon hours of raw tape and quickly identify the best moments, then turn them into a compelling narrative.

The role will involve all stages of the production process: from pitching and finding incredible talent to producing interviews, cutting tape and seeing episodes through until publish. We’re building this show and team from scratch and we want to make it as collaborative as possible. The ideal candidate will be energized by the chance to work as part of a team, helping the host and reporters bring their ideas to life.
This is a role for a creative producer with a journalism background, who thrives under deadlines and accepts and provides constructive feedback to team members.

What You’ll Do

-Brainstorm, develop and shape ideas for show episodes
-Cut hours upon hours of tape, assemble mixes and score episodes using Pro Tools
-Work with Host and other producers to identify sources, subjects and interviews to create a story
-Find, book, prep and produce interviews
-Develop a strong contact base
-Arrange for studio recordings and tape syncs
-Organize audio assets; selecting strongest tape with other team members
-Outline episodes and write scripts
-Potential opportunities to travel and field produce interviews

Experience / Skills


What You’ll Bring

-A strong interest in telling stories for a young audience
-A minimum of four years of experience producing audio for radio or podcast
-Experience in producing in crowded and fast changing environments
-A journalism background An ability to listen to raw tape, and identify the perfect details, the need-to-know plot points, and the need-to-hear moments that make a story
-Experience scripting 15-30 minute audio stories
-Love of narrative structure and genre conventions Proficiency in field recording with a variety of audio equipment
-Proficiency in creating assemblies in ProTools
-An eye for detail and self-direction
