Opportunity
You have the opportunity to join our dynamic, heart-centered, and mission-driven team as our Studio Department Director. The Media Department Director is responsible for building and developing a world-class film and print media team that creates engaging, entertaining, visually beautiful media, such that we achieve our goals and exceed our best as a company.

Position Responsibilities:

Participate in the Department Vision: Work with the Founder and CEO to set the vision and create yearly goals for the media department that align with the overall institute’s goals and mission.

Help Develop, Oversee and Manage the Media Department Budget: Oversee and manage the media budget, approve expenses, research discrepancies, and utilize the budget to drive efficiencies and maximize excellent media production.

Execute the Yearly Strategic Plan: Keep the media department team focused on the main priorities, moving forward with cadence and accountability.

Oversee Existing Media/Production Team: Studio team, including camera, audio, technology and related team members. Print team, including senior graphic designer and outsourced suppliers. Work with the Event Director to recruit & hire additional AV staff for specific events.

Directing Live-Virtual, Multi-Camera Events which span multiple Days.

Responsible for BTI Broadcast Studio: Oversee operation, development, and maintenance of the studio; includes cameras, microphones, switcher, monitor displays, repairs, purchases, and more.

Bring New Media Innovations to BTI: Find new innovative opportunities for BTI which include: cutting edge storytelling, creative ideas, camera work, special effects and graphics that produce highly engaging content.

Video Production Management: Producing all videos for all divisions, including signal flows, planning out paths, ensuring every event and project is successful, meets goals and on budget.


Position Strategic Focus:

-Recruit, Train, and Manage a World-Class Media Team
-Build and train a team that creates engaging media that is aligned with BTI brand and mission. Motivate and inspire the media team.
-Mitigate and resolve conflicts.
-Directing Live-Virtual, Multi-Camera Events which span multiple Days.

-Media Direction - Live and Virtual Events
-Manage and provide Network TV quality in-person and virtual event production.
-Direct the virtual AV Production team, producing an exceptional event experience.
-Oversee a quality plan that increases engagement and maximizes virtual attendee satisfaction.

-Produce the visual media for departments and divisions
Oversee and produce world-class video and audio assets for:

System Oriented: Excels at creating systems and processes which increase the velocity of results while lowering workload and costs.

Travel: Willing to travel to company events 6 weeks per year (when safe to do so) to learn about, and engage with, company programs, philosophies, and our clients. In addition, willing to travel to marketing masterminds, seminars, trainings, etc. a few times per year to stay on the cutting edge of strategies, techniques and marketing ideas.

Required Technical Proficiency:
Network: technical understanding of how to monitor network performance (latency, connectivity, and up/down speeds), wireless network troubleshooting, understanding of LTE network infrastructure, load balancing, network channel configuration, and experience using Cisco, Juniper and Ubiquiti/Unifi is a bonus
AV input/output mapping for audio and video
Video and monitor matrix management
Expertise and experience connecting video switchers, audio consoles, cameras, microphones and computers
Extensive experience with macOS and Zoom
Data Storage Management: creating backups of files, migrating data between drives, refactoring drives, maintain data redundancy, and collaborate with Technology to assure data integrity

Compensation:
This position is a full time, remote, salaried position [with performance compensation]:
Salary Range: $90,000 - 100,000 + 20,000 bonus potential (based on experience and qualifications)

Commute: Studio is located in Orange County, so there is a commute if located outside Orange County.
