We are looking for a talented Senior Business Intelligence Engineer who is passionate about using data to drive crucial business decisions for sports content in Prime Video. The Sports Team within Prime Video brings selection of live sports content to Amazon customers around the world. Among other exciting events, we have streamed NFL Thursday Night Football and English Premiere League football for Prime members, and offered NBA League Pass and MLB.tv through Prime Video Channels. This role will focus on building world class processes around designing, collecting, organizing, and presenting data to analyze our video traffic, customer behavior, and feature performance.

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer working on the analytics platform, you will be developing and supporting analytic technologies to give our internal customers flexible and structured access to data that is timely, accurate, and actionable.

A successful candidate knows and loves working with BI tools, is comfortable accessing and working with data from multiple sources, and can partner with internal stakeholders to help drive the business. Responsibilities will include:

· Apply deep analytical and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insight and learning from large and complicated data sets
· Collect, analyze, and present actionable data to drive business decisions at a senior level
· Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
· Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
· Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis; data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
· Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation, and model implementation
· Serve as liaison between the business and technical teams to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights on current business performance and improvement. This requires data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
· Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know when, how, and which to use and which not to use

Experience / Skills


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related discipline
· 6+ years of relevant experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or related field, in a role requiring application of analytical skills to formulate business metrics
· Experience using, writing, and optimizing SQL queries in a business environment
· Experience with building data pipelines
· Experience with gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
· Advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualizations tools like Tableau or similar BI tools
· Strong operational business understanding, including potential impact of business decisions on various internal and external stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related discipline
· Experience with Python, R, MATLAB, SAS
· Familiarity with AWS solutions such as Redshift, EC2, and S3
· Proven ability to identify solutions in unconventional ways; innovate and simplify processes
· Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills
· Self-starter who is customer obsessed, detail-oriented, and an enthusiastic team player
· Avid sports fan with inherent familiarity with major sports
