The Mill Group, Inc. seeks Executive Producer to work in New York, NY. Maximize the use of resources and to oversee the smooth production of projects through the company. Ensure the best communication regarding bidding and execution of projects, to ensure that The Mill is takes full advantage of sales/project opportunities and that company resources are well utilized, delivering increased sales and greater bottom line profit. Ensure that there is healthy communication between production and other departments within the company to aid overall communication and to better working relationships, especially with the operators and artists that work directly with the production staff. Be highly proactive in the task of winning new business by targeting clients and accounts to be won by The Mill and defining client specific strategies to win business. Liaise closely with the Head of Production in the company’s New York City office and the Executive Producer in the company’s Los Angeles office to ensure strong communication regarding sales and the successful hand over of jobs between The Mill offices. Provide support to the Visual Effects (VFX) production department in NY and ensure excellent communication and the careful handover of projects from the bidding stage to the line production stage of a project. Monitor the satisfaction of existing clients and ensure that they continue to use The Mill. Maximize revenue and utilization of The Mill NY and LA by having an overview of the work going through each office, and encouraging effective scheduling and efficiency of resources. Develop and maintain a close proximity to the market and disseminate relevant information to the production team and key staff at The Mill. Work closely with our reps to help define potential clients, sales/marketing opportunities and public relations exercises both on a short term and a long term basis. Network with agency, production company and editorial clients. Oversee quotations and sales pitches with clients as necessary with more junior members of production. Ensure that quality standards and best working practices are met on all projects undertaken by the department. Develop, train, motivate and support all people in the department. Work with the Head of Production and be responsible for induction of all full-time and freelance production staff and take an overview on the use of freelance 2D artists and producers. Monitor, and take steps to care for, creative operators' welfare while also providing balanced protection for The Mill’s clients and upholding the level of service/work they should expect from The Mill. Promote the advancement of new Mill offerings both internally and externally through in-house directing, cross platform content, and volume/relationship driven workflow. Meet with heads of other Mill departments on a regular basis. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Media Production, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a post-production environment. Work experience or academic coursework must have included: two (2) years of experience negotiating rates and placing bids for creative projects; experience leading a team comprised of 5 or more individuals; knowledge of the visual effects (VFX) pipeline; 3D software Maya, Houdini, Flame, Nuke; editorial process and finishing; telecine and workflow and process.
