The Assistant Director of Video & Broadcasting (Content) reports to the Director of Video & Broadcasting and will assist him/her in the day-to-day video operations and broadcasting content for the Tulane Athletics Department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Responsible for creating content to be used during game broadcasts, for video boards and special events. This includes but not limited to: Produce, coordinate and edit featured content for Tulane athletics broadcasts such as halftime features, coaches’ interviews, player profiles, etc.; produce in-game videos and graphics for in-venue video boards; assist the Director of Video & Broadcasting maintain overall look and design of the video displays at home athletics venues; and work collaboratively with other external staff on the creation and timing of video board & broadcasting content to be displayed during games and other special events. (40%) 2. Assist the Director of Video & Broadcasting and video staff in coordinating the activities of the athletics video & broadcasting staff for production of live and on-demand content, which includes, but is not limited to: Work within the broadcast team to produce live, multi-camera broadcast of athletics contests, ensuring all broadcast fulfill conference and ESPN production standards & regulations; assist with the setup, management, in-game direction and upkeep of all video boards and broadcast equipment at athletics facilities; assist with any issues with in-game stream/broadcast and video boards in a timely fashion; assist in supervising game day staff. (student workers & freelance workers); and help train freelance and student crews to serve as camera operators and/or others roles on the production staff to work games, and other special events. (25%) 3. Assist the Director of New Media and video staff with the creation of graphics, creative videos for the athletics department. This includes but is not limited to: creating content for Tulane’s social media accounts and various external channels; creating hype videos and highlights for Tulane teams and staff for various internal and external uses; and video coverage of teams during athletic events, practices or other special events. (15%) 4. Maintain athletics video archives, ensuring that seasonal and historical footage is properly stored and organized. (5%) 5. In collaboration with coaching staffs, manage the video sharing needs following selected athletic contests in a timely fashion, which includes, but is not limited to: upload athletic contests immediately following selected contents, or upon immediately returning to campus, per conference rules; download contests of future opponents as requested in a timely fashion; and coordinate video exchange requests for out-of-conference opponents. (5%) 6. NCAA Related: Ensure that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attend and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletics Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seek interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Report potential rules violations immediately. Complete required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitor all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations. (5%) 7. Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor. (5%)

Experience / Skills

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Competencies:
1.Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year sports video production, videography and editing experience including in-game/in-event setup and operation OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 years’ sports video production, videography and editing experience including in-game/in-event setup and operation
2.The ability to tell stories through video for featured content and highlights.
3.Experience shooting video with DSLR cameras, such as Panasonic GH5
4.An understanding of video editing and using software, such as Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere.
5.Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student athletes, media and vendors.
6.Must have strong organizational, management and leadership skills.
7.Proven ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
8.Must have outstanding work ethic and strict attention to detail.
9.Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, and available for possible to travel with sport teams for selected away contests.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Proficiency with Mac systems and using Adobe Creative Suite. (Photoshop, After Effects)
2.Experience with social media trends and best practices.
3.Familiarity with proper lighting and chroma keying techniques.
4.Experience working within a broadcast crew in various roles.
5.Knowledge of industry-standard and growing trends in terms of equipment and infrastructure.
6.Understanding of NCAA & FCC broadcasting rules.
7.Thorough knowledge of American Athletic Conference rules and regulations.
