Ford Field Management, LLC is Detroit's premier sports and entertainment destination and is the game day home of the Detroit Lions. Throughout the year, Ford Field hosts events such as concerts, motorsports, college and high school sports, high school and college graduations, and more. Ford Field also has space available for conferences, meetings, and banquets. Ford Field has hosted major events such as Super Bowl XL and the 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four.
Ford Field Management and the Detroit Lions currently need a Game Presentation & Production Manager. The position is based at Ford Field. We will accept applications for this position until 11:59PM on September 27th, 2021.
The Game Presentation & Production Manager role will be responsible for assisting in the planning, budgeting, preparation and operation of events and productions to ensure the highest quality standards that support the Detroit Lions and Ford Field Management’s business objectives.
The Game Presentation & Production Manager position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:
Lions Game Presentation
Coordinating, preparing and executing cross department communication with all personnel/departments surrounding Production videos and graphics requests to be created by Lions staff– either as an element of the in-game presentation or as a separate video or graphic project for other purposes, including but not limited to, website, meetings, events and partnership presentations
Work with the Marketing department to develop a fan-focused research plan to influence the in-game fan experience strategy and identity to maximize the overall in-game fan experience while creating an exciting and entertaining program
Responsible for executing the Game day inventory grid for all departments of the Lions and Ford Field and coordinating League initiatives into Game day presentation
Creatively, hands-on co-produce a variety of in-game video features, some requiring pre-production that includes performing videography, editing and scriptwriting, including but not limited to, securing video footage, art files, photographs, audio and other supporting materials
Oversee music licenses and content while working with the game day DJ to create music cuts for in-game use
Will assist management with the seasonal game day broadcasting staff, including but limited to scheduling
Oversee the creation of all Game day Graphic and Video content
Oversee the organization’s media asset management system
Create Game Timing Sheets
Create the Game/Event Rundown
Manage the Mascot into the Game day Presentation
Manage the integration of any additional entertainment/performance groups in to the game presentation
Function as the Line Producer for both home Preseason games and Bowl Games
Ford Field Events
Manage client videos, graphics and music for execution of full-stadium events
Correctly secure production elements, including but not limited to, file sizes, formats, aspects, codecs and downloads, for events such as MAC Championship, HS Football, Monster Jam and Concerts
Act as Event Producer for non-Lions games when required
Website, Television, Radio
Work closely with the Director of Broadcasting and Production to ensure that scoreboard and television production facilities, and all other A/V equipment and facilities are maintained in operational condition and are prepared for scheduled events
Maintaining and operating the Ford Field Control Room, audio system, supplies and related equipment, including but not limited to, cabling.
Assist in producing video and graphic content for DetroitLions.com and producing content for Team television and radio programs as well as NFL Now
Will maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and of web tools and software being used
Work with Brand Management to ensure brand consistency in creative and executional elements
Provide content for special team events, including but not limited to, season ticket members, fan fests, and caravans
Create specific delivery deadlines and schedule production milestones
Hands-on systems operation as needed/when available for videoboard operation, videography, editing, audio op and lighting for other organizational and building events
Work with the Director or Broadcasting and Production to outline and forecast budget needs specific to programming/presentation and the operation and maintenance of Digital content
Continually research new, refreshing ideas from other teams/venues, sports leagues and other live entertainment groups that will enhance and improve the overall game entertainment
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and when needed, repair A/V equipment and systems
Must travel to NFL meetings and other venues to research best practices
Responsible for logging and entering tapes and associated information into computer database, as well as assisting in check-in/check out procedures
Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Maintains professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts
Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands
Will keep appropriate information confidential
Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the objectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporated into the position description if they are ongoing
Will advise supervisor if actual practice (activity) begins to deviate significantly from specified essential functions
Experience / Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, Film, Mass Media or related field required
Experience with videography, editing and scriptwriting required
4+ years of game day production and execution required
Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Excellent follow through, strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
Must possess excellent customer service, communication and proven interpersonal skills
Will adjust schedule as needed to meet work goals and time constraints, including working nights, weekends, and holidays as football schedule directs
Previous experience in a professional sports or entertainment venue preferred
May require work out of both the Ford Field Management Office and the Allen Park Training Facility
A valid Driver’s License and good driving record
