The DeFiance Media team is seeking a motivated and creative Digital Asset Manager to champion the best use of asset management tools and taxonomy within our TV/Digital platform. This role will be an expert in live event asset management and the flow of A/V, Print, Digital, and other assets from raw to work-in-progress to final archive and, ultimately, to delivery with an eye toward excellence in metadata and on partnership with global teams for delivery.
Digital asset managers at DeFiance Media work closely with the founders, Creatives, Producers, Content Contributors, Social Media teams, technology partners and external agencies, with deep immersion into day-to-day operations. The Asset Manager will be expected to be hands on, highly familiar with art, a/v, and digital filetypes, and to have experience managing video asset libraries within the news, marketing, and advertising space.
The role will also set the standard for the consistent use of metadata and taxonomy within the company. The Digital Asset Manager will be an excellent multi-tasker, managing projects with multiple deliverables in a timely fashion and ensuring deadlines are met across teams and key global stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for news and will also demonstrate strong ownership, leadership, and bias for action, remain proactive with strategic solutions, and collaborate across internal teams and external partners with clear and concise communication.
The Digital Asset Manager Is
The Asset Management advocate for metadata and taxonomy within the company.
A partner to the Creatives, Producers, and content contributors across the network

A diligent researcher of new technologies, workflows and best practices to increase efficiency while promoting innovation.
Onboarding contributors onto DeFiance Media filename standards and cloud solutions
Providing vendors and partners access to RAW content
Training Team and partners on Asset Management tools
Staying up-to-date on content security standards for sharing and tiering categorizations
Setting up title folder structures, permissions, user access on Asset Management tools
Setting up WIP workflow automations, as applicable to the title.
QCing, ingesting, and releasing assets to the finals archive DAM
VAM metadata localization, metadata/avails submission, asset delivery and working with Content Ops closely to resolve issues and ensure quality control
Curating collections of final assets to global marketing partners
Handling and resolving final asset search requests
Manage internal user account creation and permissions, and perform routine user audits to ensure all users follow internal compliance measures
Train and onboard new users to the DAM system and assist with questions from existing users
Partner with post-production teams to ingest digital media and related documents to the DAM
Develop and update program documentations, wikis, and provide inputs to monthly or quarterly business review documents
Track all content delivery outlets for quality control, uptime, and analytics
Compare and track analytics for contributor payments via distribution carriers.
Experience / Skills
Experience working with multiple stakeholders
Experience working at or with a creative or advertising agency, network, streaming service, or studio
Understanding of the workflow within a marketing, production, or creative department or company
3+ years of creative services experience
Experience working with digital asset management tools (Amagi, Frequency)
Experience leading process improvements and/or operations tool implementations (e.g. digital asset management tool)
Experience working with live studio tools (Livestream studio, Newtek)
5+ years of creative services experience
Superior verbal and written communication skills, experience educating non-technical stakeholders and working across multiple teams and regions.
Deep knowledge of video, audio, and image encoding formats and industry best practices.
Experience working on or with mid-scale, global creative campaigns.
Previous experience with metadata schema development & input, organizing a large amount of files, high-resolution file transmissions (FTP, servers, etc.), file naming conventions, and database reporting.
Experience in DAM/NAS migration and consolidation (QNAP).
Experience in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, Splashtop, etc.
Experience administering DAMs with an emphasis on managing creative marketing assets within other creative industries like advertising and entertainment marketing.
Previous experience with metadata input, organizing a large amount of files, hi-res file transmissions (FTP, servers, etc.), file naming conventions and database reporting.
Must be well-versed in the digital space
