Media Consultant 2 (Equipment Room Assistant Manager)

The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications is seeking a motivated individual to support the Bellisario College of Communications equipment. This position reports directly to the Equipment Room Manager.

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Coordination and support for the logistical details for the college audio, video, and photographic courses.
• Manage the online checkout process relating to shipping and receiving equipment, including data entry, researching, recommending, and purchasing new audio, video, and photo production equipment.
• Act as the point person for photography classes, as well as CommAgency (client-based video production service), and the online station CommRadio run by the students of Communication.
• Aid Communications lab faculty/staff in various assignments such as travel-abroad projects, and live streaming webcasts such as the Homecoming parade and THON.

Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires core competencies in still photography, audio, and video production. Strong working knowledge with still photography equipment required. A successful candidate should be able to troubleshoot basic technical problems from a variety of major name brand manufacturers including Nikon, Canon, Sony and Panasonic.

This position acts as Manager-on-duty during weekday evenings, with a typical M-F 11am-8pm schedule. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or occasional lifting of up to 65 pounds, with or without accommodation, is required; proper lifting techniques are required (including transporting World Campus larger equipment cases to mail services for shipping).

This position will serve as back up to the Equipment Room Manager and perform other duties as assigned.
