Position Summary:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the B.I.T Engineer will be responsible for the successful maintenance, repair, design, installation, operation, documentation, and support of complex media communication systems. Work as part of a collaborative Engineering team to include EIC duties for live games.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs preventative electronic maintenance and technical support for: Production control rooms, studios, edit suites, equipment rooms, cable ways /risers and display walls, A/V routing systems, production switchers, cameras, audio mixers, graphics NLE systems, hardware and software codecs, embedding/processing gear, intercom & IFB, wireless RF systems, automation and transmission systems.
Proactively identify potential issues and develop and implement plans to address and resolve potential problems
Work collaboratively with the IT/Operations/Production departments and be willing to assist other engineering team members on projects, troubleshooting and repairing technical problems
Participate in the implementation of hardware and software solutions that meet the technology and business needs of the various departments
Assist in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include servers, network equipment and managed infrastructure technology and software applications
Act as the Engineer in Charge of live events
Successfully complete other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed

Experience / Skills


Education:

Electronics degree or related technical degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
SBE Certification at the CBTE and CBNE level is a plus
Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in Broadcast/production engineering maintenance required. Systems for which this role is entrusted to maintain includes but not limited to
Evertz EXE 2.0 Audio and Video routing and distribution
Ross Acuity production switchers controlled by Ross Overdrive and robotic pedestals
SSL audio boards and RTS intercom system
File based workflows and IP Distribution
Imagine Versio and Nexio Master Control automation
Strong working knowledge of SD/HD/UHD & SDR/HDR video/audio as well as MPEG II, IV, HEVC, AVC, J2K, Dante
Strong understanding of all aspects involved with live television productions and the ability to prioritize needs quickly
Ability to design, Install, commission, and configure new systems
Proficient in file transcoding, data archiving processes, and video codecs, compression technologies, and standards
Knowledge of distribution and contribution technologies including multiplexing, RF, streaming, and fiber transmission
Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint and AutoCAD software
Solid time management skills and a proven ability to prioritize effectively
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Must be customer driven and comfortable in 24/7/365 environment
Must be a team player but also be able to work independently
Flexibility to work overtime, nights and weekends are necessary
Ability to climb stairs or ladders and lift 50 pounds
