Position Overview:
The Senior Manager, Creative & Production is part of our vision to pioneer the future of sports and entertainment. We want to tell our Teal Together story to deepen relationships with current fans and attract new, diverse audiences to the Sharks to expand beyond the tradition hockey fan. We are much more than a hockey team and that will be reflected in an array of high-quality content produced by our talented creators. Managing the creative staff and collaborating with leadership in Integrated Marketing, Creative & Entertainment, and Media Relations, this role will be instrumental in developing our content strategy and aligning the organization on an annual content plan.

The Senior Manager, Creative & Production will be critical in brand management and will work closely with Marketing leadership in developing and executing our brand strategy, making a collaborative, communicative mindset important for the role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

LEADERSHIP

Directly supervise and develop full-time creative staff including video producers, motion graphics producers, graphic designers, and our team photographer.
Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate department staff, with the objectives of fulfilling the organizational content plan and supporting revenue-generating areas of the business.
Create, document, and hold staff accountable to critical functional and cross-functional processes.
Cultivate and maintain a best-in-class culture rooted in our Pioneering Principles.
Work closely with Director, Creative & Entertainment for expense budget adherence and forecasting.
Act as primary contact for outside creative agencies
Oversee development and management of SSE mark portfolio.
Oversee merchandise product development and marketing in cooperation with our merchandise partner.
Develop close working relationships with key internal stakeholders like Revenue+Brand, Media Relations, Sharks Ice, and others to ensure necessary collaboration.
Be a thought leader and subject matter expert on sports content throughout the sports and entertainment industry with a digital profile across multiple platforms.
Use independent discretion to analyze staff performance, create performance improvement plans, and/or take disciplinary action when appropriate.

STRATEGY

Collaborate with R+B leadership to develop SSE content strategy with focus on (1) telling our wide-ranging brand story, rather than just hockey content and (2) elevating the sales experience for partnerships and premium hospitality, in particular.
Work with the VP, Marketing to ensure brand and voice are reflected consistently and effectively in all creative and video produced
Collaborate with several internal stakeholders to develop, document, and execute the annual SSE content plan.
Work with Integrated Marketing to evaluate results of content plan and optimize as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required
7+ years of professional experience working in creative, production, or creative project management, ideally B2C, with 3+ years experience managing multiple creative areas and/or a mid-size team
Demonstrated experience in content creation, including tangible examples

Ability to utilize a computer for extended periods of time, communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals, lift up to 15 lb., physically navigate to and through SSE facilities during events.
