Position Summary:

This position requires a person who has a well-rounded knowledge of modern IP based broadcast systems, Video processing and conversion, compressed and uncompressed Video Standards such as H264/ HEVC/ Jpeg2000/ JPEG-XS/ST 2110/ 2022-6/ including non-linear record/playback devices, control systems and interfaces, streaming and OTT standards and protocols. Person must also have a strong understanding of networking and Unix Operating systems and the capability of troubleshooting across them. This individual will be part of the Engineering group and will provide technical support of the core broadcast infrastructure and architecture. This individual will also be responsible to facilitate design, planning, cost estimate and implementation of new initiatives.

Major Responsibility:

Interact with and support Technical Operations, Video Production, Digital media, Enterprise IT and Operations Staff Perform on call, on-site remote emergency troubleshooting and repairs
Support/manage Routing Control Systems, NMS systems
Support IP Media Fabric for compressed and uncompressed video and edge devices
Assist with supervision, facility design, construction and installations, as necessary.
Liaison to vendor for product support (rentals, upgrades, product development, etc.).

Experience / Skills


Required Skills/Knowledge:

Expertise working with Modern video orchestration and routing platforms.
Experience in supporting non-linear workflows capture/ playout and file transfer systems and protocols.
Expertise Video compression, Video Transport, Software Defined Video Networks and CLOUD media systems and delivery
Demonstrated ability to work independently and creatively.
Willingness to travel and accept shift and weekend assignments when necessary.
Expertise in UNIX operating systems, and understand basic python script, Java, MySQL data bases.
Knowledge of SMPTE standards as they pertain to broadcasting such as SMPTE 2110.

Education:

Experience Needed 6 - 10 years of Broadcast engineering experience.
Educational Background Required College degree in Communications/ Computer Science/ Engineering or related field required In lieu, a college degree significant field experience will be considered
