Are you creative, nonconformist documentary filmmaker who's passionate about human beings and storytelling? WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!
Sponsored by the prominent RealWomen/RealStories' YT channel and more investors, our new project, "The Things We Feel", is looking for an all-in-one documentary director and cinematographer.
Our project was created in order to unveil the emotional turmoil within us all beneath the surface of the facades we put up throughout daily life. It aims to encourage a sense of understanding and compassion and intends to highlight the idea that we never truly know what the people around us are going through.
The candidate should be a creative film director and someone excited to work on impactful and emotional studio interviews. The candidate should have a strong eye for what audiences look for in bold and dynamic content. They will also need to hold impeccable skills in creating studio interviews, in attention to detail, and in anthropology, sociology, and in human interest. They will have proven experience (3 years minimum—preferred) in a similar role and should ideally be passionate about people.
Experience / Skills
Desired skills include:
A positive, can-do attitude, with excellent communication skills. Nonconformist.
Strong technical knowledge of sound equipment, accessories and grip.
Dubbing mixing and sound editing skills.
A deep understanding in lighting and filming portraits in a studio.
Having your own cinematography equipment/gear is definitely a plus.
Good color correction and color grading skills.
Essential attributes:
A confident, highly organized individual with excellent cinematography and interviewing skills.
Having your own gear is definitely a plus.
Experience in using cinema cameras/DSLR.
Proficient knowledge of cinematic lighting in a studio.
Experience in using an interrotron reflector.
Excellent skills in Premiere.
Duration and longevity:
We are looking to work with individuals who believe in the cause and resonate with storytelling and life experiences. An initial 1-month trial period with a view to longer term position of one year or more.
MUST be based in Dallas or New Orleans.
