The Sun Valley Resort in Idaho has an opening for a Pavilion Stagehand. The candidate will be a primary technician for the amphitheater during the summer, from approximately late May through early September. The Sun Valley Resort offers work in a high-end, very public environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:  

Provide support for visiting art groups and touring performers to present their events.
Work closely with visiting riggers and other technicians.
Act as a technician for events produced in-house and facilitate visiting engineers as necessary.
Set up, operate, and break down lighting, sound systems, and staging.
Tech work indoors and outdoors, on the ground or at a tall height.
Maintenance of technical systems as needed.
Occasionally provide technical support for other Resort events, including the Sun Valley Pavilion.
Light carpentry.
Other duties as needed, including general cleaning of the venue if necessary. We all pitch in and do what is required to make every event successful, no matter how small the task.

Experience / Skills

Be able to operate basic theatrical audio and lighting systems. 
Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment and venue technical systems as needed. 
Apply standard rigging and safety practices.
Be comfortable working at heights and the usage and maintenance of chain hoists.
Have good computer skills.
Be able to work long hours during peak seasons.
Work well with a group, provide appropriate leadership, and be comfortable in a fast-moving, dynamic work environment.
Be organized and self-motivated.
Enjoy living in a small but thriving mountain town, and take advantage of the many exciting outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, rafting, mountain biking, etc.

The primary venue is the Sun Valley Pavilion, a 1,561 seat Amphitheatre in the resort community of Sun Valley, Idaho. Shows vary from conferences to classical music to Rock n’ Roll and everything in between. The ideal candidate would have a positive attitude, passion for collaboration and teamwork, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. This is a seasonal position beginning in the spring and running through early September.
