VIDEO PRODUCTION ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
The Video Production Assistant is responsible for supporting the operations of the video production team. This can include tasks such as setting up and taking down equipment, coordinating shoots, managing schedules, conducting research, and assisting with editing and post-production tasks.
This remote position reports to the Video & Digital Production Director.
To be successful as the Video Production Assistant, you will need:
o Experience with video production equipment, software, and techniques
o Strong communication and organizational skills
o An eye for detail and a commitment to quality
o The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
What you’ll do:
o Frequent travel to on-site locations within the Midwest
o Assist in the setup and breakdown of video production equipment
o Managing and organizing production supplies
o Assisting with the production of videos as needed
o Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the production set
o Additional duties as assigned
Experience / Skills
● Bachelor’s degree in journalism, video, or like industry.
● 3+ years of production assistant experience is preferred
● Ability to work effectively in a team environment
● Strong problem-solving skills
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Production: Sony equipment, so knowledge of the Sony FX series is a plus.
● Travel: up to 2x per month September - April, up to 4x per month May - August. All travel will be around the Midwest.
● A valid driver’s license is required.

*Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
