Clinging Vine Filmes

We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Post-Production Editor or Team for a short (3 to 4 minutes) mild horror/suspense film with a thrilling, suspenseful twist. This film uses a state fair setting to amplify the chaos and tension of the story, blending the festive and frenetic energy of the fair with a haunting narrative. Your role will be to enhance the suspense, building up the fear and tension to a climactic crescendo. This includes audio, SFX (we have access to library), and natural audio provided.

- Bring unique and imaginative techniques to heighten the suspense and scariness, integrating overlays, light, and action from a state fair setting.

- Utilize the footage provided (nearly all scenes except the very last have been shot) and draw inspiration from a pre-edited cut.

- Work collaboratively to brainstorm and refine ideas, with an openness to experimentation and fresh takes on horror editing.

- Provide a comprehensive game plan and timeline for the editing approach before diving into the work.

-Participate in periodic reviews and discussions to ensure the film’s vision is being realized effectively.

- The edit delivered must be compatible with Final Cut Pro, as a final scene has yet to be shot. Director plans on editing that portion, unless applicant has an interest in that, too.

Experience / Skills

- Proven track record in horror or suspense-driven narrative work.

- Strong understanding of horror/suspense post-production techniques, particularly in sound design, visual effects, and pacing.

- Examples of prior work are a must, ideally demonstrating a flair for building intensity and creating atmospheric tension.

- Excellent communication and collaborative skills, with a willingness to discuss ideas openly and incorporate feedback.

About Clinging Vine Filmes

Clinging Vine Films was founded by Kevin Cate to move audiences with emotional stories and visceral images. Our first short film, sci-fi thriller OPEN DOOR, racked up over a million organic views in a few days. Our second film, PUT YOUR CART AWAY, a dark comedy, was hailed as hilarious and ambitious. Most recently our teaser trailer short film for IDENTICAL was called a "mind-blowing must-see." We are currently working on more breakthrough short films and entering pre-production for our debut feature-length film in 2025.
