The Aspen Group (TAG) is seeking a versatile Video Editor/Shooter to join our dynamic creative team. This mid-level role requires a balance of technical expertise and creative vision, with approximately 75% of the role focused on video editing and 25% on shooting. The ideal candidate will support the Senior Video Editor and Studio Director while also managing solo projects and social media-specific shoots.
**This is a contracted role 25-40 hours per week with opportunity to move full-time
Experience / Skills
Key Responsibilities:
Video Editing:
- Edit video content for marketing, training, and promotional use across various platforms, including digital, broadcast, and social media.
- Repurpose video content into different formats and aspect ratios (e.g., vertical, square, widescreen) to meet platform-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with the Senior Video Editor to ensure cohesive storytelling and visual consistency.
- Apply color grading, audio mixing, and basic motion graphics to enhance video quality.
- Organize and maintain video assets, ensuring efficient retrieval and use.
Video Shooting:
- Assist the Studio Director on larger productions, handling tasks such as lighting setup, camera operation, and equipment management.
- Independently manage smaller-scale shoots, including social media content in vertical formats.
- Ensure high-quality footage by managing framing, lighting, and audio during shoots.
- Collaborate with team members to align shooting strategies with creative goals.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with producers, designers, and content creators to bring concepts to life.
- Support the Senior Video Editor and Studio Director by managing overflow editing tasks and assisting in larger projects.
Technical Proficiency:
- Operate professional-grade cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
- Use editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent tools to produce polished final products.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and techniques to ensure innovative content creation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of professional experience in video editing and shooting.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar tools.
Experience with professional camera systems and understanding of video production workflows.
Strong knowledge of aspect ratios, video formats, and platform-specific best practices.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience creating content for social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Basic knowledge of motion graphics and animation.
Familiarity with 4K video workflows and high-resolution formats.
Background in healthcare, retail, or related industries.
Hourly Pay Range: $27-36
