Reporting to the Director of Production, the Media Operations Manager will be responsible for setting and executing our Technical and Media Management strategy for Warriors Studios. This includes overseeing the media management and workflow while working closely with editors/producers to ensure content is delivered with consistent quality and timeliness.

The position collaborates with all Marketing & Digital groups as well as our internal customers: PR, Sponsorship, Events, Community Relations, and Arena to help deliver quality content.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Warriors Studio media management - Avid ISIS server and Interplay data-base
Provide best practices and media workflows for all Warriors Studio productions
Troubleshoot with producers, writers, editors on media management. Provide a “first-line of defense” support for Avid/Premier
Manage the technical operations of all edit and ingest stations within Warriors Studios
Perform all routine maintenance on the Avid post production hardware and software
Oversee Production Assistants and the logging, cataloging and inputting of metadata
Manage and process all internal and external video and audio requests
Manage Warriors Studio video archival system (LTO System)
Ensure that deadlines are met and that videos meet the required codec standards
Provide overall support for editing, shooting and production in Warriors Studio

Required Skills

Experience across the Avid ecosystem including Media Composer, ISIS/NEXIS and Interplay
Strong knowledge of video codecs, wrappers and formats utilized in file-based workflows
System Administration experience (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS)
Proficiency in troubleshooting IP networks, protocols and hardware
Working knowledge of video fundamentals including frame rates, sync and timecode
Proficient in managing and organizing video files and transfers across local and remote servers and storage networks
Knowledge of and familiarity with video file formats and properties, and video transcoding principles. Familiarity with media asset life cycles in a production environment.
Attention to detail, and ability to maintain accuracy and precision across multiple records
Prior experience in cataloging media assets in one or more large scale databases
Ability to assess and adjust attention to assigned workflows as needed. Ability to suggest and provide alternatives to workflows when needed
Ability to communicate, collaborate, and problem solve
Ability to work individually and in multiple groups, on multiple time-tables in a deadline driven environment
Ability to work in a 24/7 shift based environment, with possible weekend or overnights shifts if necessary

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree in video or film production
3-5 years of experience as a Media Manager in a sports or broadcast facility
Two plus years in a Broadcast, NOC or Post Production environment providing front-line technical support and maintenance
Leadership and communication skills
Familiarity with audio and lighting for video, color correction, and editing
The ability to lead and inspire large teams of creative employees and content creators
A passion for new technology tools and new strategies
