The Office of Strategic Communications seeks a Senior Videographer and Editor (SVE) who will be responsible for producing, shooting, and editing video content. This individual will also serve as a producer of video content for the web, social media, and television.

Reporting to the Director of Video Production (DVP), the SVE will provide creative video services that support high priority marketing campaigns and communications. To be highly considered for this role, you should be a storyteller at heart with experience shooting and editing documentary-style features, television commercials, and social media shorts. The SVE assures that all video productions meet the goals and objectives of our clients, and are consistent with the mission of the University.

The SVE will assist with the production of department and divisional priorities including but not limited to: the Office of the President (messages from the president); Fundraising (donor acknowledgment, alumni engagement, stewardship, events); Admissions (student recruitment, tours); Greater College Park (groundbreakings, press conferences, events, and promotions); University of Maryland brand (campaign, research, social media content, and stories for the University’s news site Maryland Today). The Office of Strategic Communications produces 80-100 videos per year.

Candidates must submit at least five samples of their work in the form of a website, YouTube link, or similar online resource. You must describe your role in the video samples such as shooting, editing, pre-production, audio, and distribution. Samples should be more than a demo reel.

Experience / Skills

Education (include licenses, certifications, etc.):
Bachelor’s degree required.

Must have at least five years of video production experience displaying expert use of professional and mirrorless/DSLR cameras, audio gear, and lighting equipment in a variety of settings including on-set, studio, live event coverage, and interviews. Candidates must also have a mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro video editing software, After Effects, and Photoshop.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Experience in managing complicated assignments with multiple contributors.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Video file management skills.
