The video software team at NVIDIA is looking for a Senior System Software Engineer. As part of our team you will be contributing to the core video system software and work on groundbreaking projects that include ultra-low latency cloud gaming, AR/VR game streaming, and video broadcasting.

What you’ll be doing:

-Learn about our graphics processing units (GPUs) and video hardware accelerators, and how to harness their full power to build world-class solutions.

-Develop and optimize our system software stack for low-latency capture and encode, which is driving interactive video streaming and broadcasting over the Internet.

-Contribute to our Software Development Kit that enables low-latency streaming of AR/VR content from the cloud.

-Contribute to the video core driver (WDDM 2.x) so that it operates perfectly with the latest Windows 10 operating system version.

-Get opportunities to collaborate with multiple teams across our company, as well as our partners and customers.

Experience / Skills

What we need to see:

-We are seeking someone highly motivated and passionate about system software development, and who enjoys working close to hardware.

-Proficiency in C/C++ with strong software development, optimization, and debugging skills is a requirement.

-Dedicated, fast to take action, and proactive with excellent analytical skills.

-Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (Master’s degree or higher preferred).

-10+ years of meaningful software development experience. Outstanding engineers with less experience may be considered.

Ways to stand out in a crowd:

-Prior experience with Windows or Linux driver development will make you stand out.
-Ability to think creatively to debug and tackle complex, hard to reproduce problems.
-Knowledge and work experience with modern video compression standards, such as H.264, HEVC, VP9, and AV1.
