JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the CIO, SVP Of Technology, we are looking for a Vice President of Broadcast Technology to coordinate and implement strategic technology and operations initiatives associated with both broadcast and digital platforms to align with the company standardizations (cloud first) and technical goals.

The major areas of responsibility include all new initiatives for IP and Cloud based Broadcast Operations for news, programming, station automation, virtualization & cloud initiatives , station delivery platforms for OTT, Streaming, and OTA, Technology support of all News and local production, Information Technology and Transmission.

This mission critical role will be responsible for collaboration with all departments on new technologies and workflow development to enable high quality, fast-paced content creation and will lead the technical side of the creative vision for digital experiences, disaster recovery and resiliency on all platforms.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate and implement strategic technology and operations initiatives associated with both broadcast television and digital platforms to align with station goals and projects

Supervise and manage all aspects of the Broadcast implementations, projects and the multi-platform content distribution across Fox

Supervise a team of IT Broadcast Solution Engineers to architect, implement and manage modern broadcast technologies that support our business

Prepare and manage the fiscal operating budget for the technical department, including capital budget

Collaborate with all departments on new technologies and workflow development to enable high quality, fast-paced content creation and lead the technical side of the creative vision for 2021’’s digital experiences on all platforms

Experience / Skills


WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor’s degree (computing or engineering program preferred) and/or formal training in Technology or a related field

Minimum 7-10 years in a broadcasting operations management role

Proven experience as a team builder and leader that provides clear structure and managerial oversight of the Technology Department

Significant experience evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing, and maintaining broadcasting industry equipment and information technology systems

Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them

Experience in administration of broadcast file workflows and play-out systems

Broadcast IP Routing deployments

Knowledge in AWS cloud solutions

Knowledgeable in control room automation systems (ELC, Ignite or Ross)

Thorough understanding of FCC rules and regulations

Familiarity with all applicable FCC, OSHA rules & regulations

In-depth understanding of a broadcast station including news production, live event production, studio operation, file-based content creation and editing/transport/transmission

Ability to integrate new technologies into media operation on multiple delivery platforms such as broadcast, streaming and OTT

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Ability to successfully work with our third-party master control hub

Excellent verbal and writing skills will be expected as well as strong interpersonal skills

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including, travel with occasional night, weekend, and on-call work in support of a 24-7 operations

Excellent stress and crisis management skills, with the ability to multi-task and make informed and appropriate decisions under pressure
