The Fox Sports World Cup Desk is looking for a Freelance World Cup Operations Producer with at least five years of experience in live television sports or news coverage, ideally in marquee event production. This position will work closely within the World Cup Desk and Operations team in Los Angeles and Qatar leading up to and throughout the duration of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with emphasis on scheduling and coordinating live feed routing, ENG crew management, and facilitating watch party coverage from around the world. Experience working in a live production truck or control room is a must. The position will commence in July 2022 and conclude following the FIFA World Cup in December 2022.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule, plan, and quickly disseminate transmission grids
Oversee and track multiple incoming feeds
Update and/or change source assignments at a moment’s notice
Plan ENG crew assignments, balancing the needs of executives and producers with logistical + technical limitations
Produce and source content like international watch parties, including booking 3rd party vendors, drafting TX plans, and working with producers to cover requested locations
Track HBS position bookings and collaborate with production to ensure all live shots standards are executed properly
Live remote integration including faxing-in with remotes, comms management, and alpha informational support, QC-ing feed and content, and notifying and confirming records with media management
Liaise with local affiliates nationwide to produce Satellite Media Tours while overseeing comms, feed bookings, schedules, and additional production requirements
Experience / Skills
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Valid U.S. Passport through January 2023 and the ability to travel to Doha, Qatar for the FIFA World Cup
Superior understanding of the means of transmission, including bonded cellular, fiber, satellite, IP-based (LiveU, TVU, Dejero, etc.)
Experience working in a control room and/or live production truck
Strong communication skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure, to meet deadlines, and multi-task
Familiarity with EVS, Smartsheet, iNews, and other CMS
Team player who is comfortable working long hours in high-pressure situations with those both above and below them
