JOB DESCRIPTION
Assist with editing in post-production for the docuseries Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People, and all other original content productions. Work directly with post-production department to facilitate all related processes and procedures. Ensure all footage and assets are ingested and organized properly, deadlines and schedules are met, and all files are delivered in a timely manner. Assist with physical production as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

Manages and organizes raw footage, audio and ingestion of data onto server from CFast cards, SD cards and various other media.
Initiates and manages transcription process for all interviews and footage.
Assists in building sequences for Osiyo VOTCP features, almanacs, language lessons, promotional/marketing spots.
Assists with server maintenance and organization, post-production equipment/tech maintenance, troubleshooting and inventory.
Assists in animation collaborations.
Assists with color correction and audio mixing processes.
Purchases stock music/footage and licensing, assists with stock footage logs and maintains image library/archives.
Uploads digital files to file-sharing servers and FTPs and assists with delivery of files to broadcast facilities.
Addresses digital file requests from internal and external collaborators.
Acts as additional on-set production crew when needed.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Video Production, Communications, Film or related field and experience working in film and television production a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge of video editing software and systems.
Advanced knowledge in Mac OS systems, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and other production software.
Strong understanding and knowledge of various camera codecs, video file encodes and audio files.
Experience with documentary-style editing.
Knowledge of industry terminology.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Ability to be resourceful and creative in identifying alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
Excellent organizational and communication skills to ensure effective workflow.
Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently on multiple projects, meeting strict deadlines under pressure.
Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism when dealing with all levels of staff, management, clients and the general public.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be performed in a variety of settings, including, climate-controlled office setting or studio and/or outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Work may require extended periods of sitting, walking or standing. Work requires lifting and carrying objects up to 25 lbs. Work may require travel, including overnight stays.
