As part of Bournemouth Film School, the BA (Hons) Visual Effects for Film and Television course launched in 2015 and has forged strong relationships with the VFX industry. The course is focused on best industry practice and methodology to prepare students for positions in visual effects for live-action film production and related screen industries. Our students are given expert training in technical skills using industry-standard software, supplemented by classes in traditional art skills, design skills and contextual study in order to enhance their cultural and aesthetic awareness.

We are looking to recruit two individuals to support the delivery of the BA (Hons) Visual Effects for Film and Television course. We welcome applications from individuals with skills and expertise in at least one of the following areas:

• 3D modelling/texturing (Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter)
• Compositing (Nuke, Silhouette)
• Lighting and look development (Maya Arnold, Substance)
• Visual effects simulation (Maya, Houdini)
• On-set VFX supervision and data acquisition

The posts are advertised at both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer level, with the level of each appointment depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. For the specific qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience in relation to the two levels of post please refer to the relevant job description and person specification attached.

The successful applicants will work alongside the Course Leader and other members of the academic and technical team to develop the curriculum specifically within the VFX course. The role will require teaching at all three academic levels, meeting unit requirements and individual student project briefs.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with vision and drive to shape the ambitions of this course, working with colleagues at Bournemouth Film School to build and deliver a learning experience that will allow students to become the next generation of creative artists in the visual effects industry.
