Experience / Skills
Required Education and Experience:
• Technical or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• 10+ years of industry experience with proven production and live event management
skills.
Qualifications:
• Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and manage complex projects under tight
deadlines.
• In-depth expertise in large-scale video system design and implementation, with a focus
on live events.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building lasting relationships
with clients and internal teams.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for innovation in
video technology.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical work with high-level leadership responsibilities.
• Strong understanding and experience with AutoCAD.
• Familiarity rental software.
• Able to task subordinates with daily tasks, projects and supervise.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years of video production management experience for live events, with
a proven track record in technical and leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Video Department Leadership
• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Video Production department, managing engineers, contractors, and all related equipment.
• Implement industry best practices, and develop new ones, ensuring that MAC’s video production processes are reliable and exceed client expectations.
• Set, track, and achieve performance goals for the Video Production department, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence.
• Serve as a mentor and leader within the department, facilitating regular team meetings and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, safeguarding MAC Productions’ reputation and profitability.
Production Planning
• Collaborate with Event Managers and other departments to ensure that client expectations will be met.
• Lead video system design, ensuring that equipment, technology, and staffing align with the needs of each event and client expectations.
• Recommend, define, and manage personnel and labor requirements for large-scale video projects, ensuring operational efficiency and excellence.
• Supervise the integration of equipment and labor data into the R2 rental management platform.
• Place video production table layout and gear in AutoCAD floor plans for optimal onsite execution.
Production Execution
• Coordinate with show technicians to confirm their understanding of the production schedule, as well as the technical and creative expectations for the event.
• Work with Video Department and Warehouse staff to thoroughly and carefully prep and
pull the gear designated for each event in a timely manner.
• Operate MAC-owned and sub-rented video equipment, including LED walls, projections,
cameras, media servers, and video switching systems, as needed.
Client Care
• Represent the video department in high-level client meetings and presentations,
providing expert consultation and leadership.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to secure repeat business and referrals.
Oversee Strategic Direction
• Drive innovation by researching and integrating cutting-edge video technology that enhances MAC Productions' service offerings.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to develop and implement strategic video production initiatives that align with company goals and client objectives.
