January 2, 2015 - Veteran actor, voice over talent and audiobook narrator Dan Woren has been honored with two prestigious Earphone Awards, presented annually by AudioFile Magazine for truly exceptional presentations in the areas of narrative voice and style, vocal characterizations and enhancement of the text.

Woren won in the Non-Fiction and Culture category for Go Wild, by John J. Ratey and Richard Manning and in the Children and Family Listening category The Misadventures of the Family Fletcher, by Dana Allison Levy. He was previously honored with Earphone Awards for Trust Works!, by Ken Blanchard in 2013, and The Invisible Gorilla, by Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons in 2010. Woren was also selected by AudioFile as a “Best Voice of the Year” - an award given to the year’s best narrators.

An accomplished actor of stage and screen, Woren most recently starred in the New York stage premiere of Behind Closed Doors: The Musical, a visionary tale tied politically to the controversial California Prop 8. The show played to sold out houses as part of the popular NY Fringe Festival. His numerous television roles include guest starring and co-starring roles in series that include Babylon 5, Grace Under Fire and Silk Stalkings, and films such as Star Trek: First Contact, Beastmaster II and The Amazing Charleroux.

Woren has been a successful voice over artist for over 20 years, repping such brands as Pacific Life, National Realtors Association, Robinson's May and Miller's Outpost. His anime credits are extensive, including leads in numerous series including Bleach, Fate Zero, Persona IV, Digimon, The Batman, and Robotech. His video game credits include: World of Warcraft, Dynasty Warriors, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Wild Arms 4, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and Red Faction Guerilla.

Adept at many genres, Woren has narrated over 60 audiobooks. Among his forays into non-fiction are: Toms River, by Dan Fagin, Brother One Cell, by Cullen Thomas, Effortless Healing by Dr. Joseph Mercola, and Pope Benedict’s XVI’s Jesus of Nazareth. Fiction narrations include So Brave, Young and Handsome by Leif Enger, Trader of Secrets, by Steve Martini, Under the Baseball Moon, by John H. Ritter, and This is How You Die, by Matthew Bennardo.

The Portland, Maine-based AudioFile Magazine reviews over 2400 audiobooks a year, features narrator and author profiles, and awards exceptional performances with their “Earphones Awards.”
