Los Angeles, California
I am a recent graduate of UCLA School of Law who is currently waiting on California Bar Exam results, and I am interested in working in the entertainment industry. Throughout law school, I interned at law firms and networks, and I believe that my passion for entertainment law, my dedication, and my goal-oriented and detail-oriented personality will prove an ideal professional and personal fit for an entertainment law position.
Given my background, I believe I could substantially contribute to any entertainment enterprise. As an undergraduate, I had the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple facets of legal practice by interning within both the music and television sectors of the entertainment business. Since then, I have increased that exposure by accepting multiple internships in the entertainment industry. I have reviewed and aided in the drafting of talent agreements, and I have gained insight into the nuances of intellectual property issues within entertainment law. Specifically, one of my main projects was to maintain the registration status of the myriad trademarks that the firm represents. I also reviewed financial statements from distributors to check for compliance with the applicable Production Services Agreements and aided in the formation of corporations and Limited Liability Companies. I have also been given the opportunity to correspond directly with clients, while also researching guild requirements, marking up contracts to send counter-offers to the studios, and keeping the quote sheets on high-profile clients up to date. Academically, I concentrated my efforts on obtaining a comprehensive understanding of entertainment law. I graduated with a specialization in the Entertainment, Media, and Intellectual Property Law Program, and I accepted leadership roles through my involvement on campus, including as a Submissions Editor on the Entertainment Law Review.
I believe that with these tools and my work ethic, I will be able to meet whatever rigors are presented to me in the entertainment industry. If I can provide you with any additional information, please feel free to contact me. I thank you for your time and consideration.
