DADCO, LLC, a Sun Valley, CA, manufacturer of portable power and lighting systems for the Television and Motion Picture industries, now sells, rents and services the newest line of Sunray Trans Max LED PAR and Sunray Translyte LED systems. Our newest line of distros features Control Added Technology. The OctoCAT is the newest member of the Control Added Technology (CAT) family of integrated power and control products from DADCO. The OctoCAT complements the BlackCAT series of devices. DADCO recently announced a new line of power and data distribution devices under the BlackCAT brand in direct response to the growing need for integrated control solutions in the film, TV, and content creation industries.
“The ever-growing need for and proliferation of control protocols such as DMX, RDM, Art-Net, sACN, RDMnet, GTDF, and ethernet requires flexible data distribution solutions to cover the needs of productions of all sizes and complexity,” said Hans Lau, a DADCO executive. “The expanding number of LED fixtures and other devices require a power distribution system with more outlets, but not necessarily more power.”
The OctoCAT series fulfills those needs with enhanced lunch-box style power distribution devices with 100A Bates feed through, eight 20A Edison duplexes, as well as a 20A Edison convenience duplex with two USB A charging ports that can also serve as an ordinary 9th circuit. The OctoCAT integrates data distribution with technology from Swisson and wireless technology from LumenRadio; both world renowned manufacturers with a stellar record in the film and TV industry.
DADCO was founded in 1995 by Ron Dahlquist. Dahlquist, along with Wally Mills, designed the 24kW Challenger and the G4. Dahlquist has been a leading innovator of lighting and power distribution systems in motion picture and television lighting. He is a long time member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 728, former Chief of the Set Lighting Department at PARAMOUNT STUDIOS, and formerly President of KEYLITE PRODUCTION SERVICES, a leading independent lighting company in motion picture and television. He has been a leader in the initiation of the I.A.T.S.E. National Safety Training Program. He serves as a lecturer in that program to union locals nationwide and a consultant for motion picture and television industry safety programs globally. DADCO is a signatory with I.A.T.S.E.--Local 728.
SUNRAY is a well-known brand name recognized worldwide as an innovative designer of HMI type lighting fixtures for more than 30 years and now, Translyte "Hard Body" LED Systems. SUNRAY was purchased by DADCO in 2009. Ron Dahlquist and Wally Mills (formerly with CINEMILLS) together have designed a new line of SUNRAY – LED, HMI and TUNGSTEN lighting fixtures. SUNRAY lighting fixtures are assembled by IATSE Local 728 union craftsmen in Sun Valley, California, in the heart of the generic Hollywood film and television community, and listed through E.T.L. to U.L. standards.
SUNRAY can easily service the entire international film and television community with on the shelf ready-to-go fixtures, ballasts, cable and distribution equipment along with parts and repair services for the new product line along with the original SUNRAY line of fixtures.
