About Me

Jonathan Bird is a professional underwater cinematographer with over 25 years of experience filming from the arctic to the antarctic and everywhere in between. A recipient of nine Emmy Awards and two CINE Golden Eagles, he has produced over 20 nature documentaries which have appeared on television networks such as National Geographic Channel, PBS, ABC, USA Network, Discovery and even the SciFi Channel. Since 2008 he has directed and hosted the public television series "Jonathan Bird's Blue World" which is entering its 8th season. He regularly completes underwater cinematography assignments for major productions appearing on networks such as Discovery Channel and National Geographic.

Jonathan Bird Productions is equipped to shoot television and cinema in all resolutions up to 8K and can provide a complete crew on location. We own and regularly shoot underwater with high-end gear up to and including the RED Weapon, as well as more TV-friendly cameras like the Sony Z100 in Gates housings. We can provide everything a client needs for a complete underwater shoot, anywhere in the world, whether it's a commercial, reality show, documentary or a feature. We specialize in exceptional underwater cinematography anywhere.
