Having made North Carolina the No. 3 filmmaking state in the US during the past fifteen years, the North Carolina Film Office enters its twentieth year of operation with its sights set on the international and independent filmmaking marketplaces. The office is extending its global marketing campaign in the new century with a newly-formatted state film and video directory, a new website, a string of international tradeshows in the US and Europe, and an expanded advertising campaign aimed at the burgeoning worldwide independent film market.
North Carolina's film and video industry infrastructure, already one of the strongest on the east coast, continues to grow annually. A resident crew and technical workforce of over 1,500, with excellent credentials, has been a major lure for production.
