Eric R. Velarde, a talented Storyteller, began working in the film industry in 1996 as a Production Assistant for a low budget feature film "Buscando Un Sueño." The following year, Eric graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Television Production from Rutgers State University of New Jersey. He spent the next few years working different positions with the crew and production staff on different film productions, with his goal to hone his directing prowess. In 2000, even with his previous acting experience, Eric was given the opportunity to join the Screen Actor's Guild. Having attained the understanding on the do's and don'ts of production, Eric went on to complete the Final Cut Pro Master class at Future Media Concepts in New York City & Boston in 2002. From there, he gained over twelve years of experience as an Editor, on both narratives and non-narratives. In 2004, Eric acted as the Co-Executive Producer for a low budget independent Cambodian-American film entitled 'Lovesick,' produced by Angelina Jolie. During his years, Eric has gone on to direct short films, music videos, commercials, and promotional videos. A jack of all trades, Eric has allowed his experience to empower himself to be able to inspire and attain the vision from his crew and talent, as a good Director should.
I have been in the industry since 1996.
