About Me

As a native South Floridian, Osvaldo "Ozzie" Silvera, has over 29 years of television and film production experience.

His love affair for capturing moving images began as early as sixteen when his high school began offering a television production class. In 1990, he began working at Broadcast Quality, a video production company, specializing in Corporate & Legal video productions.

In 1998, while working as a Senior Camera Operator, at a Barry Diller television station, the station acquired a Steadicam but did not have anyone to operate it. It was here where Ozzie began the next chapter of his career as a Steadicam operator. A few years later he would be properly be taught by Garrett Brown, the inventor of the Steadicam.

Ozzie continues to live in South Florida even though his work takes him all over the world to such places as Argentina, Trinidad, The Philippines, Nicaragua, Peru, Germany, Puerto Rico, Brasil, etc... He can travel anywhere a production needs his expertise. Currently, he is working as a Director of Photography and/or Steadicam/Camera Operator, on a variety of projects, for many national networks and independent production companies
His most notable work in recent years was as a steadicam operator on the Golden Globe AND Academy Award winner for best picture "Moonlight"., The A24 feature The Florida Project starring Willem Dafoe and the current theatrical release of A24's "Waves" starring Sterling K. Brown, Kelvin Harrison, Jr, Lucas Hedges, Taylor Russell, among others...

I have been in the industry since 1990.
