Documentary - Zero Gravity Flight, March 2012
The client: Google/YouTube. The project: contest winners of YouTube's "Space Lab". Professional Sound gig: gathering and mixing during a flight in a special airplane, in which 12 parabolic moves were performed in order to create 30 seconds of no-gravity situations (run by the company, Zero Gravity, aka, Space Adventures. www.zerogravity.com). Therefore, I, as the mixer, was wireless to the camera (too many people, including the production crew, floating around, partially uncontrolled). The only mic used was my shotgun mic, using a coily cable to connect to my field mixer that I had attached to my chest/x-harness. This harness also had two bottom ring attachments that connected to my mixer, thereby preventing the mixer from floating off my stomach, into my face, for example... bottomline, the mixer was totally secured to my body, which helped me to performed controlled floating techniques during my sound gathering job. Please see the 5-minute video on my website, under the heading, "Zero Gravity Experience." Additional icing-on-the-cake: I am now certified for weightlessness (special "Certificate of Weightlessness" still on order). Please keep me in mind for future zero-gravity production shoots... I am ready for the wave of the future in field production, with the near-future plans of new Spaceports (the NM location) and private space industry plans. Please also access my website for additional photos of other, past production work (refer to website's "Photo Gallery" section).
