About Me

My name is Jessica Davis and I have an extensive background in television and film as a production assistant, casting assistant, producer, floor director, camera operator, host, editor, and location scout.

I have worked as a Production Assistant -- for a number of projects including "The Details" (a feature-length movie starring Tobey Maguire, Ray Liotta, and Laura Linney, among others), The Golf Channel, "Amazing Race" (CBS), "PINKS All Out" (SPEED TV), and Time, Inc. In addition, I have worked as a Casting Assistant -- for MTV's "The Real World," the Oxygen Network's "Bad Girls Club," and PBS's "Be More" series (for which I also acted as the Location Scout).

I have also been co-producing and directing "In Between the Raindrops," an ongoing documentary project about a group of jazz legends who performed together in Seattle during the 40's and later (which includes interviews with music impresario Quincy Jones, vocalist Ernestine Anderson, trumpeter Clark Terry and more). The documentary has received positive recognition from former Seattle Mayor Norm Rice, as well as representatives of the Smithsonian, HistoryLink, the Northwest African American Museum, and KING-FM's Arts Channel, among others. At www.vimeo.com you can view a clip from the interview I did with Quincy Jones (I was the director and interviewer for this shoot.)

In addition, I recently worked as a Community Relations Specialist at SCAN (a community media TV station), where I created newsletters, wrote press releases, networked with members of the community and helped produce a series of community programs for the channel (see www.vimeo.com/clips for a clip of a segment on Black History Month that I produced, directed and operated the camera for).

I also created my own program at SCAN, called "Jazz TV," which I hosted, directed, booked, edited and operated the camera for. Clips from "Jazz TV" may be viewed at www.youtube.com and www.youtube.com (In these clips - the first of a band called "The Jason Parker Quartet" and the second of a band called "Soul Kata - I operated the camera and did the editing.)
