I chose a career in Entertainment/Media with the hope of making a positive difference in my community and beyond. My goal is to create and be a part of media projects that are not only entertaining, but also educational and thought-provoking.
I do freelance television and film production work (Canon C300, DSLR, etc. camerawork, Final Cut Pro/Adobe Creative Suite editing, field audio recording, lighting/grip). For instance, I shoot and edit all of the product demonstration videos for SharperImage.com (the well-known retailer of gizmos and gadgets). I am one of the editors on an adventure fishing series, entitled "Hoss Off the Grid," which airs on Destination America. I helped produce and did camerawork on an episode of MTV's Emmy Award-winning show, "Made." I did some preliminary editing on a Lifetime movie entitled "Prayers for Bobby." I was the gaffer for a French government-funded feature-length documentary about Detroit entitled "Internal Combustion." I've also done freelance work for PBS, CBS, OWN, Fox Sports, and MLB Network.
I moved to Portland, OR from Detroit, MI. While living in the Detroit area, I worked at Detroit Public Television (PBS) for nearly 6 years. My job at DPTV required me to wear many hats including: studio/field camera operator (Canon C300, etc.), studio/field audio engineer, studio/field lighting director, floor director/stage manager, and set builder. By the end of my time at DPTV, I was producing my own complete segments that aired on the station's arts program, "Detroit Performs."
Specialties: Studio/field camerawork, studio/field audio recording, studio/field lighting, editing.
I have been in the industry since 1998.
