I make movies happen. I have passion, and I have organization. I will climb mountains. I will postpone sleep. I will do what needs to be done. I take pride in the chores that others try to avoid -- the budgets, schedules, call sheets, deal memos... I read the fine print. I think outside the frame. I champion efficiency. I save you money. And I love every minute of it.
CC Chainey thrives on the chaos of cinema and her passion for story. The Bay Area native started producing thesis projects for graduate students at the University of Southern California as an 18-year-old, working early on with the special needs of motion capture technology and stereoscopic 3D. Her first feature screenplay, “Lawrence and Brie,” won the prestigious Alfred P. Sloan Award in Screenwriting at USC in 2009. She graduated “magna cum laude” with a degree in Film Production in May 2011 from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where she produced a number of short films that received awards at festivals and were available on platforms including cellular download, in-flight entertainment, and television. CC served as Associate Producer on the New Century Chamber Orchestra concert film “On Our Way,” released on DVD in 2012. Her UPM credits include season 2 of the FOX web series “Single Dads” and narrative feature “Don Quixote: The Ingenious Gentleman of La Mancha” (a James Franco/USC collaboration). As the Coordinator at CounterPoint Films, she was an instrumental member of the team behind the production and theatrical distribution of the successful spiritual documentary “AWAKE: The Life of Yogananda.” Her narrative feature film debut as a Producer is the culturally unique Bollywood-crossover independent feature “For Here or To Go?” starring Ali Fazal, Omi Vaidya, Amitosh Nagpal, and Melanie Chandra -- releasing in theatres March 31, 2017. She also is in post-production as Co-Producer of the feature adaptation of stage play "A Gulag Mouse" and serves as Producer of Marketing & Distribution on Kobane refugee documentary "Resistance is Life," which begins the film festival circuit in Spring 2017.
