As an experienced audio-video technician with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, I am interested in a position where I can apply my creativity and production abilities.
I graduated from Winthrop University in 2005 with an Excellence in Broadcasting award. Throughout my education and beyond, I have gained valuable experience in providing the best technical support and customer service possible.
I was promoted to the position of A/V Engineer for Six Flags Atlanta Properties. I was responsible for maintaining the digital elements of the Six Flags Media Networks. This includes 20 television locations totaling 50 screens, 1 Jumbotron, and an audio network of 600+ speakers. Other duties included coordinating with the New York office to ensure remotely transmitted content was received and played in the correct format. I also tracked inventory levels to ensure that the parks had enough stock supplies to repair any failures in the system. Weekly, I sent a report to senior management informing them of issues affecting the parks that week. I also participated in a weekly call with other Six Flags A/V Engineers across the nation to discuss the issues and solutions we would implement each week.
As a Technical Services Supervisor at Six Flags Over Georgia, I maintained the park audio system (along midways), the technical aspects of show venues, and assisted the special events team (e.g., I gathered materials based on the needs of the group, and set-up equipment prior to their arrival). Typical groups would be school/church choirs, school bands, and dance teams. I anticipated the needs of the group based on the group’s type and number of members. I also coordinated with lighting designers prior to their arrival on site, and trained the technical crew on required duties during their pre-show checks.
As a Technician/Lead Technician at Six Flags Over Georgia, I routinely videotaped shows, auditions, and B-roll content. I would then edit the videos to create the best representation of the show. I also archived the auditions for quick/easy recall of the video when needed. The B-Roll footage would also be archived for future use. Other duties included the construction of sets for all stages, hanging and focusing of lighting instruments at all venues, and adjustment of audio, both in venues and on the midways.
I am proficient in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Quark Express, Goldwave, Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, Media Matrix N-Ware, and Cool Edit Pro. I also have knowledge of Telnet, Putty, Remote Desktop, and I adapt quickly to new programs. Using my skills and experience, I can solve issues efficiently and effectively. I work with quality, accuracy, and deadlines in mind.
