I am experienced in every phase of production, from developing programs to completing the final product. For 15 years, I was employed with Orlando Public Television Station, WMFE-TV. My position with WMFE was Director of Local Programming where I was responsible for producing over 200 programs per year, ranging from live studio and mobile unit productions to national, regional and community specials and documentaries. I was also responsible for program funding and supervised a staff of over a dozen staff producers, writers, and production support staff. During this time I maintained a slate of news programs, special features and national documentaries.
I am an award-winning producer, director and writer. I have been honored with national and local recognition including Emmy’s for my work on biographical documentaries that include Louis Comfort Tiffany Remembered and most recently Earl Cunningham, The Dragon of St. George Street for PBS PLUS and The Bravo Channel.
My years in public, commercial and independent media have emphasized a commitment to community service. I am now seeking a position that will best utilize my talents, taking full advantage of the experience I have gained.
I am the owner and Executive Producer for Red Sail Video Productions. I am currently in production on the bio documentary of the late Beat poet Jack Kerouac, The Road Never Ends with Roger McGuinn (The Byrds), folk singer Pete Seeger, Composer David Amran and author, Bob Kealing.
Red Sail Productions is also producing the paranormal web series, Ghost Burn and the documentary, Fontana, for PBS PLUS. Fontana is a one-hour program looking at the economic and environmental impact of the Fontana Dam, built during WWII. The dam and lake displaced thousands of families and businesses from their North Carolina ancestral homes.
Working with actors has always been a favorite part of the production process for me. I have produced and directed many series, plays and docu-dramas for PBS which include The Ponder Heart with author Eudora Welty, the science fiction series, Tomes and Talisman’s and The Parchman Trials with Robert Earl Jones. I also worked on the comedy pilot, Something Fishy, for Comedy Central.
I am also proficient as an editor with Adobe Premiere CS4, Final Cut Pro and as a camera operator and field audio and as a lighting tech.
