I am a freelance, non-linear editor looking for something more stationary to get some good work done. I’ve recently worked hard as an assistant editor with Nolan Collaborative doing really fun TV spots, and devoted my time to various freelance opportunities in editing, motion graphics, and sound design- though I’ve been utilizing my skills as an editor for over 4 years. I hold two bachelors degrees: one in video editing from Columbia College and one in the fine arts, from Old Dominion University in Virginia. I’m confident that my extensive knowledge in 3 separate video editing software engines as well as Protools, the entire Adobe Creative Suite 5, various codecs and media types along with my general ambition to learn every single thing on the planet puts me in a fantastic position to be of great use to you.
Video Editing is what I hope to do as a career, but it is also what I do as a hobby- making funny snippets of video from my Mass Multiplayer Online games. I’ve also won an award in a nation wide contest for one of them. If the curiosity takes you there, a collection of all of my works along with my individual reels can be viewed on my website: www.jessicalawheed.com. Ultimately, my goal is to grow with a company doing anything creative that I can get my hands on.
My eleven years in the service industry has sharply tailored my multi-tasking, team working, and interpersonal skills. Adaptability is what I do. So bring on the grunt work, I will do it willingly. Do we need more cowbell? I’ve got it covered. Tired? Coffee and red bull for everyone! Whatever else you want to throw my way, I want to do it.

Thanks for taking the time to review my work and consider me for your employ. I’m up for anything, and am looking forward to any challenges you can bring.
I have been in the industry since 2006.
