I recently graduated from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, with a Bachelor's Degree, Cum Laude, in Communications. At my time at WPUNJ, I was enrolled in several courses pertaining to Media Communications including intensive news writing and editing courses, television production, and radio news. I was on board as an intern for three semesters on my campus' news broadcast program, "News at Noon." My duties as an intern on the program involved learning all the aspects of producing a live and a pre-recorded show. I learned how to operate camera equipment efficiently, as well as teleprompter duties, video playback equipment, on-screen graphics, and the responsibilities of a Technical Director. As an intern, I also researched news topics of the day and wrote several stories formatted for television to be broadcast on the show. The internship also involved creating production schedules and distributing work amongst a team. In later semesters I acted as a mentor to the other students, teaching them all the different equipment and helping them in their writing. Aside from my work on the news show, I briefly worked on my campus' radio show, "WPSC Radio." There I mainly researched news topics and wrote stories to be on the air. I also got the chance to be an On Air talent, once a week. I wrote for my school newspaper, "The Pioneer Times," for a semester and was really able to showcase my writing talents there. I worked alone and also in a team to gather news topics, research stories, interview sources, go on the field, and write the story all under a deadline. I'm a young, determined, smart individual with high ambitions to achieve future goals. I speak three different languages, English, Portuguese, and Spanish. I am comfortable working with several computer programs, including ProTools for editing and Microsoft Office and Excel.
