My name is Richard Startzman, and I may be uniquely qualified to work as your video producer. I have a master’s degree in visual anthropology from the Anthropology Film Center, Santa Fe, NM, a specialized training which stresses documentary filmmaking in the trenches with a sensitivity to cross cultural differences for social scientists. My background led me to combine cultural sensitivity skills with my life long desire to explore the spiritual path.
In 1995, I met the late James Berry (died 2008) of The Message Company and created video productions of all the speakers at The International Conferences on Spirituality. During those years, I logged over 1500 presentations, many on DVD of visionary leaders from around the world. A number of years into the project, I proposed we distribute a DVD format known as ‘The Visionarys’ each month, to subscribers of the best videos from the conferences. We built a great following and revenue stream, with the last issue, # 80 dated Dec. 2010, but with Jim’s untimely passing and no new conferences being produced since 2009, the entire enterprise has folded. During that time, I also produced dozens of exclusive interviews with authors like Peter Russell, Rupert Sheldrake and Richard Moss.
So I find myself with decades of experience, from concept creation to final distribution, asking God to direct my course. As you will see in the Vita, Cinevision owns all the equipment to produce high quality multi-camera productions as evidenced by my client list, The Santa Fe Opera (seasonal), The North American Institute, US Department of Energy and many others.
I recognize the future of video production is to be web savvy, and to that end I have honed my web skills for video, all productions edited on Final Cut Pro Suite , supplying clients with a variety of web clips and full length productions making their web sites rich in content.
I have raised money to produce my own projects, a documentary about Georgia O’Keeffe and an award winning historical documentary entitled: “The Silence of Cricket Coogler”. My productions have often been collaborative, as with Dr. Robert Friedman of Evolutionary Movement on DVD projects like “Spiral Chi” and “Yogaia Wave Medicine” and with Allison Johnson on “Multiple Chemical Sensitivity”, “Gulf War Syndrome” and “The Toxic Clouds of 9/11”
I have been blessed with 20 awards, but more importantly blessed with the joy of creating relationships and friendships with people who’s passion it is to impart their wisdom and knowledge to all who will listen.
