David L. Melpignano, Founder & President, Greystone Producers Corp. and Stock Video.
Mr. Melpignano has extensive experience in the film and video production field. After teaching film and video production at Boston College and Directing the Media Operations of Bentley College, he took a position as a Writer/Producer for Wang Laboratories where I produced over a hundred corporate communication video programs. After a year as Applications & Advertising Manager for Autographix, Inc., a computer graphics design firm involved in the audiovisual industry, and a year as General Partner of The David Elias Group, a full service video production company, he founded Greystone Producers Corporation. He continues to operate Greystone at the present time.
Mr. Melpignano started Stock Video, the first stock video footage licensing company in the United States. Since that time he has developed one of the largest non-news collections of contemporary video footage in the United States and has expanded Stock Video from a small, local supplier of stock footage to an international source of footage servicing clients such as the BBC, Warner Bros. Pictures, Universal Pictures, ESPN, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Inside Edition, and hundreds of others, both independent and studio affiliated.
Mr. Melpignano holds a Bachelor's Degree in English from Colby College in Waterville, Maine and advanced graduate degrees in Educational Communications from The University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport Connecticut and Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts.
He is listed in Who's Who in Corporate Video in the 90's and Who’s Who in Business in 1998. He has developed two proprietary products for Greystone Producers Corporation: VIDEO MEMO©, for general corporate communications, and TECHMARK©, specifically for the financial services industry. He has won numerous awards for producing, directing and writing, including the International Television Association's (ITVA) Golden Slate.
Mr. Melpignano has two children and is active as a coach in High School baseball and youth hockey. He has coached young athletes at all levels including State Championship teams three consecutive years in American Legion Baseball (ages 16-18 yrs). In 1997, he founded the first Certification and Training Program for Coaches of Youth Baseball in Massachusetts and has been cited by the US Olympic Committee for his contributions to coaching and teaching. He continues to conduct numerous statewide clinics for Little League, Babe-Ruth and high school coaches.
I have been in the industry since 1982.
