I learned my craft by directing, shooting, and editing indie movies and music videos. These films have played at the biggest festivals in the world, including Cannes, SXSW, and Cinequest. I've shot documentaries in Brazil, Thailand, China, Russia, and Cambodia; I once spent six weeks following Henry Rollins through the police state of Burma, shooting incognito at considerable risk. Producing feature films has also given me valuable experience working with crews, building studio sets, and dealing with complex locations.
Working in independent film has been a great adventure and a great education, building a skill set that has translated across a range of commercial and entertainment projects. Past client work includes sports videos for Adidas, Brooks, and Saucony; corporate videos for Google, Nike, Citigroup, IBM, the Gates Foundation, the Aspen Institute; and web series for Dr Pepper, American Express, Dice, and Everyday Health.
Today, I maintain a balance between passion projects and client work. I consider myself to be a generalist: a DP who thinks like an editor, an editor who thinks like a director, and a scrappy indie filmmaker who understands corporate professionalism. I own enough camera, lighting, & grip equipment to cover most video shoots; I also have experience sourcing and coordinating crew and rental equipment for large-scale productions, not just in New York but around the world.
I have been in the industry since 2004.
