I have over three years of experience as a Production Technician in media. I started as a Production Assistant at Kolo 8 News Now and was later promoted to Production Technician, working in two departments: Production and Master Control. My duties included creating still and animated graphics for live and recorded events using Edius Editing System, VIZrt Graphics, Adobe Photoshop and Curios World Maps. Operate and floor direct during live and recorded events, interface staging requirements with News Producers and Directors, collaborate with producers and generate technical rundowns using Ross OVERdrive and ENPS Rundowns, operate UTAH Master Control Board, monitor on-air log, download and ingest local and national commercial spots, record and edit local news promotions, organize news studio and maintain news equipment, train new hirees in production and master control. I also worked with News Personnel and Engineers to tune in satellite truck shots for mobile events, assisted Digital Content Producer with online updates as well as assist the video editor with cutting news content when requested.
I am highly familiar with the duties and requirements to work in a busy newsroom. I am a dedicated worker with great communication skills, I believe that it takes honesty and team work to create a great work environment, especially in a newsroom/studio. I am a hardworking individual with a tenacity to get things done the right way the first time, and the patience to learn what I don't know and utilize it to further better on-air quality.
