About Me

David M Aronson is a Steadicam operator, DP, and video engineer in Washington, DC. David started as a camera op at a local public access station, but quickly found himself shooting for Networks like NBC, ESPN, Al Jazeera, and PBS. Spending a brief period of time as a 1st AC and utility for other local ops, he learned how to use industry standard cameras on a technical level that not many others understand.

Being a nerd at heart, David also has provided engineering support for a wide variety of events. Everything from setting up a single projector, to engineering a 6 camera broadcast with Imag and broadcast line cuts. Knowledge of both low end hardware such as Blackmagic ATEMs and high end hardware like Ross Crossover and Carbonite switchers and Christie projectors allows David to tackle any engineering challenge he faces.

He picked up Steadicam in 2009 and has since been trained by legendary operators like Garrett Brown, Larry Mcconkey, and Jerry Holway. He’s an active member of the Steadicam Operators Association and has shot for PBS, ABC, ESPN, NBC, and Al Jazeera America. David is currently shooting Meet the Press on NBC every Sunday morning. He’s also the only operator in the DC Metro Area with a Segway Handsfree Transporter, capable of getting shots that no other system can get. Check out the Videos page for some examples.

David founded DC Steadicam Inc in 2015 in order to expand his business and to provide clients a one stop shop solution for Steadicam and camera movement.

I have been in the industry since 2008.
