I am an experienced composer, live performer, multi-instrumentalist musician. Music is my major passion and always has been. I started Pianoforte tuition at the age of 6 in 1981 under the tutelage of Elizabeth Cunliffe of the Royal School of Music. I added guitar to my musical arsenal at age 14 and received lessons from revered flamenco teacher Ann Ribeiro, and jazz maestro Leigh Jackson, in 1992. I also enjoy playing Bass, Drums (left-handed,) other instruments like Melodica, Cello, etc, and incorporating "found" sounds into my compositions. I currently divide my time between the bands I'm in and working on my personal solo project, dysthymia. I've also recently created a collaborative project called The Empty's Response theemptysresponse.bandcamp.com, and am actively seeking other members. Since last year I also have an experimental hypnagogic-automatism Piano project called *coda (d.c al *coda) codadcalcoda.bandcamp.com which is me improvising on Piano as soon as I wake up, recording it all first take, and adding atmospheric background pads.
I have been in the industry since 2010.
I'd definitely recommend Jamie for any film, TV, theatre, advertising, or other sound design projects. His music can be subtle yet powerfully emotive and thought provoking. He has an uncanny knack for evoking imagery within the listener with a style which is uniquely charming. The soundscapes he creates are very well suited for film work. Due to his ability to compose music of a variety of styles, his adaptable musical nature is a key advantage for any project.
