Hello and thank you taking a moment to check out my profile on ProductionHub.com
I am former IATSE Local 600 Director of Photography out of New York City, with feature, documentary, commercial and music video credits, great patience, and a relaxed sense of humor blended with focused intensity on set.
I joined IATSE in the 1980’s and worked my way up within the camera department to Director of Photography Local 600 (then Local 644). I no longer maintain an active membership so I am happy to work on non/union projects.
I attended UCSD in the 1980's, where I received a B.A. in Visual Arts. Following UCSD, I moved to NYC to attend the New York University Graduate Institute of Film and Television, where I studied cinematography under Czech DP Beta Batka (“The Night The Light Went In Georgia”, “Little Darlings”).
Remained in NYc for about 8 years, subsequently moving to Los Angeles. Short period in Atlanta, GA directing and shooting television spots and then back to LA where I photographed a series of features, including a Lifetime Network movie, "Silent Victim", directed by Cannon Films producer Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, starring "Homicide" and "Sleeping With The Enemy" star Kyle Secor.
I have collected over thirty years experience behind the camera, between LA, NYC and Atlanta.
In 2006, I received a position as a professor at San Diego State University's Department of Theatre, Film and Media, where I taught beginning and intermediate cinematography and lighting courses. I returned to SDSU in 2017.
At UCSD's Digital Arts Center, I was responsible for designing and teaching the production curriculum for the "Video, Sound & Motion Graphics" Certificate Degree program.
On LinkedIn and ProductionHub, I am looking for new collaborations; I enjoy working with younger directors and producers in need of an extra set of ears and eyes - MY job is to make YOU look good - that much I learned in 35 years.
I make a great collaborator for directors who wish a solid but "not pushy" experienced and very fast DP who will allow them to get an extraordinary amount done in a short time. I welcome storytellers with a strong visual sense who wish to have a very strong cameraman "watch their back" to ensure a smooth and relatively stress free shoot.

Let's talk - I love to work on challenging and unique shorts and adequately funded first feature efforts for younger storytellers.
We have been in the industry since 1977.
